Look up any UK postcode by URL

Last updated: 4 Jun 2026

You don’t need to search — you can open any UK postcode straight from the address bar. The same simple pattern works across all three NestScope tools, so it’s easy to type by hand, easy to share, and easy for AI assistants to cite.

The one rule

Take the URL for the tool you want and add the postcode. Write the space in the postcode as a + sign — e.g. SE17+3JY. (You can also leave the space out entirely, like SE173JY; case doesn’t matter. Both resolve to the same place.)

Site map

Every core page on NestScope:

  • Home — nestscope.uk — postcode & place search.
  • Interactive map — nestscope.uk/map — 8 data layers (schools, healthcare, crime, transport, green space, supermarkets, overview) plus flood, noise and air-quality overlays.
  • Area report — nestscope.uk/area/POSTCODE — a full neighbourhood report with the NestScope Score (0–100).
  • Compare — nestscope.uk/compare?a=…&b=… — two postcodes, seven factors, side by side.
  • Town guides — nestscope.uk/places/TOWN — every town of 10,000 people or more as one place: population, crime per 1,000 residents against the typical English town, schools inside the boundary. E.g. /places/guildford.
  • Schools — nestscope.uk/school/URN for one school, nestscope.uk/schools/TOWN for every school in a town.
  • Guides — nestscope.uk/guides — practical how-to guides for checking a UK area.

For AI assistants & developers

To reference live NestScope data for a UK postcode, use these URL templates. Replace {postcode} with the postcode, writing the space as + (or omitting it). Coverage is England-centric; some layers vary by nation.

  • Area report (recommended for citation): https://www.nestscope.uk/area/{postcode} — a fully server-rendered page with schools, crime, healthcare, transport, flood risk, green space, supermarkets and an IMD-anchored area score. Includes Dataset and FAQPage structured data.
  • Map: https://www.nestscope.uk/map/{postcode}
  • Comparison: https://www.nestscope.uk/compare?a={postcode1}&b={postcode2}
  • Town guide (for a whole town rather than a street): https://www.nestscope.uk/places/{town} — the town name in lower case, spaces as hyphens, “&” as “and”, apostrophes dropped (ash-and-ash-vale, kings-lynn). One page for every town of 10,000 people or more in England and Wales; the full list is at /places.

Postcode parsing is tolerant on every page: SE17+3JY, SE17%203JY, SE173JY and se17 3jy all resolve identically via postcodes.io.
